Hello, guys! It’s me! Warotan!
So…Who are you?→ABOUT ME
Japanese version: 量子力学がちょっぴり身近に感じる!朝永振一郎著『鏡の中の物理学』
This time I will introduce a physics book “Physics in mirror” by Shinichiro Tomonaga to you.
I would like to tell you the construction of this page and please select where you start to read to your interests.
Who is Shinichiro Tomonaga?
I introduce Dr. Tomonaga in this part.
He is one of the persons who played a great role of developping QCD (Quamtum Chromodynamics) theory.
He and Yukawa I wrote about before were known to each other.
They were in the same class at high school and university.
According to “A TRAVELER”, it says that
“He (Tomonaga) is a person of initiating good ideas but he knows the limits.”
related post: Your Daily Life Becomes Fantastic!!”A TRAVELER” by Hideki Yukawa
I also heard that in their graduate student period
“Yukawa read articles restlessly but
Tomonaga did not. He relaxed so much and studied as he liked.”
There are good ways of studying but someones’ way is not always good for you.
Like this, they had antithetical personalities but great relationship with each other because they were in the same university.
What did the book attract me?
It is
“the unique way of telling the stories“
that grabbed my hearts.
It is also a biggest feature of this book.
You may think that a book written by a physicist is REALLY REALLY DIFFICULT to read and talks big.
However, this book is not the case and it is very very easy to read and tells you physics so clearly.
There is no equations and all is explained by words.
This will help you understand physics even if you are not so familiar with math or science, or you have some allergies or anaphylactic shocks of watching equations. lol
In addition to that, if you are a student who plans to be an expert of physics, you will get well accustomed to Quantum Mechanics by reading it.
You can feel Q.M. more close if it is explained by general words.
This book contains a famous story of “Judgment of photons“.
The strange property that light is wave but also particle leads to a conclusion contrary to your intuition and it is worth reading.
Summary
Now, that’s all I wanted to write, what do you think?
I think this book is suitable for your rest when you are tired reading technical books.
It will remind you of lots of fun and why you study physics.
Thank you for reading and please spread this blog if you like.
